Research Interest:

My research interests concentrate on the mineralogical and geochemical consequences of weathering as well as on supergene and sedimentary mineralizations. In particular the interactions between the bio- and geosphere are an important part of my research. In this context I am interested in element accumulation and depletion processes.  

At the moment I am investigating the mineralogical fate of iron during the weathering of iron-bearing silicates as part of the interdisciplinary German-Chilean DFG priority program EarthShape.
